In the Lithuanian Alliance of America, Ms. Lina Venskute, elementary school Lithuanian language teacher from Vilnius, Lithuania and a lecturer of Primary Education, conducted a workshop for 28 teachers from four Lithuanian Heritage Schools from New York and New Jersey (pictured).

While on her way to teach a seminar for the Chicago area Lithuanian Heritage schools, Ms.Venskute visited Long Island and NYC. She conducted four open lessons in the A.Kazickas Lithuanian school on Saturday March 14, and a five hour seminar/workshop for the 28 teachers.
Ms.Venskute introduced concepts of the International Thinking school, showed methods of vocabulary building while teaching and learning a language in the elementary school. Teachers worked in groups while applying thinking maps. After the seminar, the participants were treated to a movie about the renown Lithuanian basketball player "Sabonis 11".
On March 20th and 21st, Ms.Venskute taught Lithuanian language to first and third graders at the Maironis Lithuanian School of Lemont, IL, and conducted an Education Conference for 72 teachers from the Lithuanian Heritage schools of the Chicago area. (Photo courtesy of Zivile Ramasauskiene)
