The Kazickas Family Foundation in partnership with the international EdTech non-profit organization Uncommon.org are proud to present the “Uncommon LT” - technology development program for people living in the remote regions and experiencing social exclusion.
Uncommon initiative seeks to empower people from underserved communities by providing technology education, as well as mentorship and personal development opportunities. The idea of Uncommon LT was born while witnessing the ever increasing demand for IT professionals and Lithuanian education system’s failure to respond appropriately.
Uncommon believes in taking a grassroots approach and investing in communities and people for the long-term, combining both in-person and online resources to create the most wholesome learning experience. Building physical environments where creativity, collaboration and entrepreneurship can thrive is foundational for this.
The first “Uncommon LT” Innovation Hub - in Panevezys
In January, 2022the pilot “Uncommon LT” program was launched in Panevezys. In the first year Uncommon.org admitted 25 young adults to the Boot Camp and provide free coding courses to 700+ school children.
Uncommon has a long-term and ambitious vision to expand to other locations of Lithuania. After successfully starting the first Innovation Hub in Panevezys it will strive to open new Hubs in other towns of Lithuania and eventually of neighbouring countries annually.
