YOUTH CAN program is based on HOOPS4HOPE initiative in Zimbabwe.

During free weekly sport practices, discussions, meetings and educational trips children develop necessary life skills. Program promotes active, productive and healthy lifestyle in country’s remote regions.

YOUTH CAN was initiated in 2015 by Peter Kazickas bringing sports and life skills training to the most vulnerable children of Lithuania. Currently it reaches close to 300 children in 16 small towns and villages of Lithuania.

The Kazickas Family Foundation is the main funder and supporter of the program.

GOALS:

TO TEACH life skills necessary to grow
TO PROVIDE opportunities to be physically active
TO DEVELOP safe and positive environment
TO INCREASE community involvement
TO REDUCE social exclusion
TO CREATE volunteering traditions

HOW IT WORKS:

Weekly Practices (1.5 hrs): sports + life skills
2-3 Educational / Career Guidance trips per year
4 Events bringing all the teams together per year
Taking part in Local Communities’ work
The teams’ Role Models visits
