During the Kazickas Family Foundation September 28th meeting it was decided to continue the Alexandra Kazickas Grant Program for the tenth year already. Alexandra Kazickas was deeply committed to the preservation of a Lithuanian identity for young people growing up in the US.
Program was established in 2012 to support Lithuanian Heritage Schools in US which provide students with multiple ways of learning through educational and enrichment experiences and opportunities.
Since 2012 A. Kazickas Grant Program donated more than $1 million to the Lithuanian Heritage Schools in US in addition to providing funds to to starting the Lithuanian language proficiency testing systems, writing the curriculum and publishing textbooks, supporting Lithuanian Educational Council in the US, summer camps, festivals and more. With the AKGP support more and more Lithuanian students get better education and leave heritage schools with the credits, certificates, Seals of Biliteracy that help them on their way to college, with the employment and keep them connected to Lithuania.
With the program KFF seeks to support and encourage teachers' productive work, participation at the continuous education conferences, sharing of knowledge and experiences with hopes that Lithuanian education will make a consequential impact on students', as well as Lithuania's future.
