Every year ASSIST alumni gather in the Kazickas Family Residence to discuss the program's past and plan its future. This time guests of the evening were Deborah McCarthy, US Ambassador to Lithuania, and Sarah J.Talalay, US Cultural Attache to Lithuania.
We are very proud of the ASSIST alumni who are able to establish their scholarships for the ASSIST students from Lithuania. ASSIST Alumnus Mindaugas Juozaitis has given three scholraships. ASSIST Alumna Aukse Jurkute and Alumnus Andrius Kavoliunas have given one each. Numerous Alumni support this program with smaller sums. Seven students from Lithuania are participating in the ASSIST 2014-2015. We are hoping to have seven scholarships for the upcoming school year as well. Lithuanian students have been performing very well and we are expecting to get additional funds for additional scholarships. Credit Union "Vilniaus Kreditas" gave funds for a partial scholarship last year, and promissed to fund a full one for the upcoming school year. This scholarship would send one student from Vilnius area.
