At the Harvard Club NY during the ASSIST annual reception, Robert Stanley Jr., ASSIST President presented John A. Kazickas with The Resolution to Honor Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas which read:
"Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas played a transformative role in the history of ASSIST, and he made accessible life changing experiences for scholars from his home country of Lithuania, and the sponsorships he funded touched not only the lives of 33 scholars but also their peers, host families and teachers, and these 33 Kazickas scholars continue to benefit from the experiences and to share what they have learned at home in Lithuania and will continue to do so in university and in their careers, and Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas allowed his philanthropy speak for itself, desiring neither honors nor personal accolades. -- Be it therefore resolved that we, the Directors of ASSIST, at the Autumn Meeting of October 2014, acknowledge our debt of gratitude to Dr. Kazickas, express appreciation for the philanthropic support he so selflessly shared with us; give thanks for the positive, life - changing opportunities he has made possible for a future generation of global leaders, and mourn his passing while celebrating his life and legacy. -- Robert H.
