Adlofas Damusis Democracy Studies Center is inviting to a conference "Politics of Memory: Tendencies, Challenges, and Opportunities" that will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2020 @ 8:30 am, at the National Martynas Mazvydas Library in Vilnius, Lithuania. Conference will be presented in Lithuanian only.
History researchers, political science experts and other well known scholars will present their talks during the conference: dr. Daiva Dapkute (Vytautas Magnus University, Institute of Lithuanian), dr. Monika Kareniauskaitė (Genocide and Resistance Research Centre of Lithuania and Joseph Kazickas Fellow at Yale University), dr. Rasa Cepaitiene (Lithuanian Institute of History), prof. Valdas Rakutis (Klaipeda University), Vilnius University Faculty of History assist. dr. Norbertas Cerniauskas, Vilnius University young scholars Antanas Terleckas, Darius Indrisionis and other scholars, National Library researchers.
Four main topics will be covered during the conference: Methodological and Practical Aspects of the Politics of Memory; Narratives Creating the Politics of Memory; Politics of Memory and Culture Challenges During the Soviet Periodi; Resistance in the Politics of Memory and Culture.
