The Kazickas Family Foundation and Lithuanian Language Association are inviting all to nominate the candidates for an Award in Memory of Petras Butenas and His Student Alexandra Kazickas.
Since 2018 with this award the Kazickas Family Foundation and the Lithuanian Language Associaton seek to preserve the memory of a linguist, an anthropologist, an interpretor and a teacher Petras Butenas (1896–1980) and his student Alexandra Kalvenaite-Kazickas (1920–2011) who fostered Lithuanian language and culture among Lithuanian diaspora and beyond. This award is presented for exceptional work teaching, promoting and researching Lithuanian language. This year it is extremely special because Alexandra Kazickas would have turned 100 on June 17th.
The first recipient of such award was an educator, linguist, and Lithuanian language textbook author - dr. Bronius Dobrovolskis - an example to all the educators, the Teachers' teacher and one of the most respected and well known Lithuanian language didactic specialists who've spent his entire life fostering Lithuanian language.
