For the first time Lithuanian Museum of Art in Chicago offered children art camp at the studio "Siela" (Soul). Over the course of two weeks more that 60 Lithuanian children ages 5 to 16 had a chance to spend quality summer time learning various art techniques.
Fifteen teachers and five councelors shared their knowledge with children. They engaged in ceramics, glass art, yoga classes, waffle making, theater workshops, paper making, fun relay races, woodwork and children's dream, therapy and hard work - clay pot making.
Even Lemont Mayor John Egofske and Police Chief Matc Maton stopped by to check out their art.
"If you could only know how much I love what we do and how much children need it! It brings tears to my eyes thinking of your generosity. Thank You!" - shared her excitement and gratitude camp initiator Asta Zimkus.
KFF's Alexandra Kazickas Grant Program helped to make this dream happen.
