Marking the Kazickas Family Foundation's 20th anniversary this year, last Tuesday, November 6th, Jurate Kazickas invited representatives from various Lithuanian NGOs to the conference "Philanthropy in Lithuania: Practice and Advise to the NGOs" at the M. Mazvydas National Library.
The goal of the conference, organized by the Kazickas Family Foundation and Transparency International Lithuania - to gather the community of Non-Government organizations and their supporters and to help with the communication while reaching for common goals.
The Kazickas Family Foundation and Transparency International Lithuania discussed transparency and sustainability with close to 50 Lithuanian NGOs. Participants had an opportunity to hear Jurate Kazickas' advise how to introduce your organization to the sponsor, how to maintain long term relationship, to share the good experiences and mistakes when working with the foundations, to analyze what are the reasons sponsor from the US chooses certain organizations in certain countries.
Lithuanian non-profit organizations are raising the bar for themselves higher and higher and are excited to share their experiences. For instance, only 2 years ago only 1 out of 100 organizations registered with the "NVO Atlas" made their finances available to the public, while today 1 out of 15 do so.
