While celebrating "Gediminas" Lithuanian School's 14th birthday, schools family organized a day of fun and a KFF Matching Grant fundraiser at the Half Day Forest Preserve in Vernon Hills, IL. Alexandra Kazickas Grant Program has been supporting Lithuanian Heritage Schools in the US since 2012. In 2015 KFF added Matching Grant (up to $1,000) program with a goal to motivate schools to organize fund-raising events in order to support their school work.
School thanks everyone who helped and have been helping for years, who care and want it to continue moving forwards:
We genuinely admire students, their parents and teachers of our school! Despite grey skies and rain everybody gathered for the 14th School's Birthday celebration and Kazickas Family Foundation matching fund raiser.
We definitely have things to celebrate - fantastic students, caring and generous parents and hard working teachers.
Since this week all schools celebrated teacher appreciation day, PTA chairman Giedrius Liaukevicius thanked all our teachers and principal Giedrė Ramanauskaitė and surprised them with Starbucks's gift cards.
We wanted to thank Lina Drungilaite for a beautiful Birthday Cake.
We say the most sincere thanks to all parents for their generosity donating many wonderful goods for silent auction! We were very excited to learn that all items were sold!
We don't want to forget to express our gratitude to Waukegan Lake county Lithuanian Community board member Mr. and Mrs.Damasius, Mr. and Mrs.Rutkauskas for long lasting support.
Waukegan Lake county Lithuanian Community board member Ms.Elena Skalisius surprised all teachers with invitations to the annual Lithuanian community gala "Golden fall". It is perfect opportunity for teachers to connect with other Lithuanian community members, to make new connections and friendships.
Biggest thanks to our all sponsors who donated generous checks for our fund raiser - Chicago land Rotary Club, Goodwill Financial Independent Agency, Mr. and Mrs. Staskevicius and others.
We are happy to announce that fund raiser was very successful -- we collected $1,016 and we hope that our long time supporter Kazickas Family Foundation will match it.
With all support and attention we receive we very much convinced that school year will go by smoothly and winter will not seem too cold.
We are not giving up. Ahead of us many new projects and events. We very much hope to see everyone at our Christmas Celebration Concert.
