Gifts for the Pediatric Oncology Ward in Santariskes
02/02/2015

During their short visit to Vilnius, Lithuania in November of 2014, the Kazickas Family members gave gifts (upper left in the picture, ten cousins were wrapping gifts brought from U.S.A.) for Christmas Stockings in the Pediatric Oncology Ward in Santariskes Hospital. John and Marcie Kazickas, and their daughter Vitoria visited the ward, and soon after, they sent Christmas gifts to each child according to his/her wishlist. For translations and photos, please see More.

Giving joy doesn't cost anything - the Mother's Union - FB post of Nov. 29, 2014 Translation from Lithuanian:

"Christmas was coming. We could definately feel its spirit during a special visit one cosy Saturday afternoon in the Pediatric Oncology Ward of Santariskiu Hospital (Vilnius, Lithuania). The visit intended to last an hour but ended at night. The youngest son of Dr. J.P.Kazickas, John Kazickas's family along with the KFF NYC Director Neila Baumiliene paid a visit and spent time with the sick children and their mothers. The magic was in the colorful flowers, tea and cake, and caring conversations. It was so warm and nice. We are very thankful to the Kazickas Family, who put their plans aside, and spent so much time with us. They asked about children's conditions, their joys and sorrows, their families lives, worries and problems the ward faced. We are hoping to do so much together in the future! Thank you Marcie, John, Victoria, and Neila."

When the dreams come true... - Mother's Union/Mamu Unija FB Post of Jan. 15, 2015 Translation from Lithuanian:

"It's worth dreaming because sometimes kind people hear about the dreams,  and make sure they do come true. That's exactly what happened to our sick children - Simonas, Vaidotas, Kipras, Emilis, Ieva, Austeja, Beatrice, Adrijus and Justinas. Marcie and John Kazickas found out about their dreams, and made them come true.

Marcie and John who live in the U.S. sent a parcel full of beautifully wrapped gifts... Emilis was jumping of joy, unwrapping his, finding Elmo and hugging it tighly. Teen boys Adrijus and Justinas, were overjoyed receiving Beats Headphones...Justinas pledged to be a volunteer for Mother's Union once he's well. He wanted to give back to others for the kindness he had received.

A very warm Thank you to the Kazickas's Family member Rolandas Auksakis, for his help delivering gifts, for the visit to the Hospital, for the encouragement of the children, for the care and support. Thank you Marcie and John for the gifts and extra joy for the sick children."
