International Emergency Medicine Conference „LITSEM2018“

On April 19-20, 2018 LSMU (Lithuanian University of Health Sciences) Emergency Medicine Clinic, Department of Disaster Medicine and Lithuanian Emergency Medicine Association organized International Emergency medicine Conference „LITSEM2018“ in Kaunas, Lithuania where large group of specialists, real celebrities in such fast growing medical area, from all around the globe shared their knowledge and experience.
More than 500 doctors from Lithuania and other neighboring countries attended the presentations of well acknowledged international emergency medicine giants, such as emergency medicine founder prof. Judith Tintinalli (USA), former International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM) president prof. C. James Holliman (USA), IFEM North America representative who worked on medical projects development in more than forty different countries, prof. Terrence Mulligan (USA), American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) elected president prof. Lisa Moreno-Walton (USA) and many more honorary guests at the "Park Inn" conference center.
"Many people contributed to a successful emergency medicine start in our country - University and Kaunas Clinics administration and community members, colleague doctors, health care politicians, as well as international emergency medicine studies module in Cincinnati (USA) and the Kazickas Family Foundation that understood the need for emergency medicine in Lithuania and supported us when taking first steps and organizing such conference. A lot of work is still awaiting - we must put all hopes and expectations invested in us to work and make sure that people of Lithuania feel a significant improvement in emergency medicine area, regardless of the area they live in," shared dr. Kestutis Stasaitis (Kaunas Clinics director for medical care and Head of Emergency Department).
Symbolically, during the International Emergency Medicine conference "LITSEM2018" five graduating LSMU Emergency Medicine resident doctors received letters from the European Emergency Medicine Association confirming that all five - Ieva, Simona, Linas, Vytautas and Laimonas – successfully passed the European Board Examination in Emergency Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium.
