Last Saturday, all Basketball Power teams participated in a special event, the "Dr. Juozas Kazickas 100th Birthday Tournament." Vilnius Gediminas Technical University's Sports and Arts Center was filled with children's laughter and bouncing balls.
More than 300 children gathered to play basketball, soccer, participate in relay races and spend fun time playing together. Special Olympics program's athletes also participated. This program takes care of children with physical and psychological disabilities.
Special guests, Dr. Juozas Kazickas’ daughter Jūratė Kazickas and sons John and Michael Kazickas came all the way from the USA to be a part of this special tournament. They were accompanied by Neila Baumilienė, director of the Kazickas Family Foundation in New York.
After a national anthem and guests' greetings, a fierce battle for medals and winner cups began! All the participants were really competitive and strong basketball players. Winners were awarded prizes and medals. The fastest in the relay races was the green team led by Darius Gricius.
After the tournament, teams went on sightseeing trips
