Day centers are vital to small towns and villages of Lithuania. They provide school children with a calm, safe and warm space for after school activities, including space for homework.
Ariogala is a small Lithuanian town, which struggles with same social issues as many Lithuanian towns, and the children are the most vulnerable ones. Ariogala already had too many underage victims of social injustice...
Just over a month ago, "Ariogalos tekme" Day center opened its doors across the street from the Secondary School, in a small humble little yellow house, and children just keep coming.
KFF is a proud sponsor of this very worthy endeavor which deserves more attention and support of other organizations, and especially the Ministry of Social Security and Children's rights of Lithuania.
Basketball Power program's coach visits the youth on Tuesdays, teaching them basketball and life skills, and takes them on trips.
Please, support Day Centers! They do amazing job! For some children they are more fun, for others more safe places than home.
