During the ceremony scholarship recipients were congratulated by KTU Vice-Rector for studies Kristina Ukvalbergiene, Head of University Senate Rytis Krusinskas and President of the Kazickas Family Foundation Jurate Kazickaite. Previous KFF scholarship recipients also participated.
"I'm extremely proud of our cooperation between the Kazickas Family Foundation and Kaunas University of Technology. Even during the hardest times my father was proud of his country, never lost hope that Lithuania would be free and believed in its bright future. He took the most pride in young people and always supported them. He believed that youth is Lithuania's future. I want to congratulate all scholarship recipients and it is my pleasure to know that I contributed to your future achievements, that I could encourage you to new discoveries. Your success stories are the best reward to our family," shared Jurate Kazickas.
Occupation forced Kazickas family to move to America, but they never forgot their Homeland, never lost hope of freedom and always supported work for better Lithuania. In 1998 Joseph P. Kazickas was awarded as an Honorary Doctor of KTU and started awarding scholarships and grants to KTU exceptional students and researchers.
