On November 9th, Peter Kazickas together with his uncle John Kazickas, Neila Baumiliene and Aiste Furajevaite visited the NBA Players Association headquarters to discuss Basketball Power program. They met with NBPA CAO, David Lafleur and Director of international relations and marketing, Matteo Zuretti.
The introductory meeting was a great opportunity to explain Basketball Power and share the amazing stories of progress and growth that have come over the last two years.
At its core, the goal of the meeting was to introduce the NBPA to the Kazickas Family Foundation and Basketball Power. A new wave of philanthropy has begun to sweep over the NBA behind the incredible leadership of LeBron James. The NBPA has pushed for and received a matching grant pledge up to $20,000 for any player's charitable contributions in a fiscal year. As a foundation and program, KFF sees this is a great opportunity to expand its reach in Lithuania through partnership and sponsorships with the NBA and its players.
The meeting with the NBPA was in no way a solicitation for donation, but rather a chance to show the wonderful opportunity for philanthropy that exists for their players within Lithuania. Moving forward, KFF is excited to be in the NBPA's network of vetted foundations. It is equally excited to continue to expand its reach and foster strong relationships with current players with the help of the NBPA. KFF is looking forward to their support of their future grassroots endeavors in Lithuania as it continues to grow its program.
