KFF is committed to helping with social issues in Lithuania and organizes social responsibility programs. On September 6th, thanks to recommendations from Ambassadors Ginte Damusyte and dr. Zygimantas Pavilionis, KFF made a request and was kindly invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, for a meeting with:
Director Rolandas Kucinskas, Head of Citizens Affairs and Consular Assistance Division, Consular Department, MFA Jurate Losiene, Secretary of Consular Department, MFA Sigitas Cirtautas, Director of Department of Lithuanians Living Abroad, MFA Vytautas Pinkus, Father Algirdas Toliatas and Caritas program "Prostitution and Human Trafficking Victims Help" Director Kristina Misiniene.
During the meeting, an issue regarding teenagers and young people from Lithuania, who got caught in the human traffickers' trap abroad, was discussed.
During an hour and a half long discussion it was agreed that with the Caritas' and other specialists' help, trainings on human trafficking will be provided to the Consuls of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and that representatives will work together at the Santa Marta Initiative, especially regarding upcoming meetings in Great Britain this fall. A sensitive question regarding the need of Lithuanian representative from the Ministry of Forreign Affairs in South America was also discussed, because there are many Lithuanian young people in South American jails that need immediate help.
Kazickas Family Foundation will continue to contribute to the social responsibility programs in Lithuania.
We hope that everyone will work together, find more understanding and sympathy to the Lithuanians (especially children and youth), no matter what social class they belong to, who fell victims to modern slavery and will try everything in their power to help them.
