Prof. R. Bansevicius, Chairman of the Senate, and Prof. P. Barsauskas, Rector of Kaunas University of Technology during a ceremonial meeting of the Senate, awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Kaunas University of Technology to Jurate Kristina Kazickas for her significant contributions and accomplishments in the Global leadership and an exceptional support of the University youth.
Jurate's Father Dr. J.P.Kazickas was awarded an Honoraty Doctorate of the same University in 1998, the year the Kazickas Family Foundation (KFF) was founded, gaving more than 730 000 Litas for grants, scholarships, awards and scholarly events at the University over the next fifteen years.
In the acceptance speech, Jurate Kazickas said:" I accept this honor because to me it is about the future. It is a motivation, an inspiration, a challenge to continue doing everything I can to help Lietuva (Lithuania), the land of my birth and a country that I cherish and love [...] Whenever I come here I feel I am at home. My heart is here. I promise you that I will continue to work to my dying day for Lietuva [...] I ask you not to focus on your own material gains but to think of others with compassion, kindness and energy. We will work together to make Lietuva truly strong."
