This month 23 most active and academically strong Kaunas University of Technology students were presented scholarships during the award ceremony at the University "Santaka" Valley. Six of them received the Kazickas Family Foundation's scholarships.
During the intimate ceremony students were congratulated by the vice-rector Jurgita Siugzdiniene, who was very proud of students' creative accomplishments, and emphasized that not only academic success is important during the studies. According to vice-rector, sponsors, contributing to the innovation development, have a huge impact on shaping students' future.
Jurate Kazickas, President of the Kazickas Family Foundation, said the opening word. This was the first time her brother John Kazickas joined her at the KTU "Santaka" Valley.
J. Kazickas was delighted to discover that more and more talented and motivated students receive scholarships year after year. According to John Kazickas, there are so many undiscovered talents at the KTU, so financial motivation is a crucial part in supporting them and searching for a potential in Lithuania.
Students, accepting the scholarships, were grateful for such recognition and assured that financial support will be extremely helpful for personal growth and innovation development.
Science Without Art - Impossible
KTU professor emeritus Giedrius Kuprevicius shared that it wasn't an easy task to select one, most deserving recipient from so many. Robertas Zutautas, studying social sciences, arts and humanities, introduced his piece "Sea of Tranquility" ("Ramybes jura") and the idea behind unusual composition during the scholarship acceptance.
"Our scholarship is a small financial contribution that encourages future interest in technologies," - stated long time KTU sponsor L. Naginaviciene who provides scholarships exclusively to the students from the faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Design. According to the sponsor, the biggest motivation for supporters to continue providing scholarships is the feedback received from the recipients, because both sides have interest in it.
For the first time scholarships up to 1,000 euros, established by the KTU Council, were introduced. Priority was given to students with financial challenge.
Jūratė Kazickas 700 Euro scholarships were awarded to:
