Kaunas University of Technology welcomed guests: Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas' son John Algirdas Kazickas, KFF Vilnius office director Zenonas Bedalis and KFF Vilnius office program coordinator Agne Vertelkaite. During the meting J. A. Kazickas presented four KTU students with the scholarships.
Scholarships of 750 euros were offered to high-performing, active students who are committed to public service.
The Kazickas Family Foundation scholarship recipients:
-Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, undergraduate studies senior Povilas Peciukonis. Student accomplished excellent academic achievements, is involved in academic and social work - is class president, student council member and a tutor.
-Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, graduate studies student at the Technical Language Interpretation and Localization program Inga Stadalninkaite. Inga is a member of Student Studies Association, participates at the various youth business programs and volunteers at the Order of Malta Lithuanian chapter.
-Faculty of Informatics, sophomore at the Program Systems studies Paulius Saulenas. He participates at the various programming competitions and volunteers teaching senior citizens computer skills.
-Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, senior at the Public Relations and Marketing studies, Klaudija Urbaityte. Student volunteers at the various sports and wellness events, donates her time and talent teaching art to children with disabilities.
During the meeting the importance and benefits of philanthropy and social work were discussed. Students shared their future plans, studies and research. J. A. Kazickas was excited to meet such active and socially responsible students who wil be building country's future.
In 1998 Joseph Peter Kazickas was awarded a KTU honorary doctorate. First agreement to award scholarships and grants between dr. Kazickas and KTU was signed the same year.
