In June, Presidential Valdas Adamakus Library-Museum had an honor to welcome Kazickas family members. On June 15th Jurate Kazickas, the President of Kazickas Family Foundation visited the library and on June 19th her brothers Joseph and John Kazickas and their families paid a visit.
During the visit, guests looked around the renovated building, viewed the exhibits, visited the reading room, the Lithuanian World Community‘s hall and work spaces in the attic for museum‘s staff and VMU Lithuanian Imigration Institute‘s scholars.
It was the second visit at the Adamkus library for Jurate Kazickas. A year ago, during her visit in Kaunas, she got a chance to witness the library right before the renovations started. During this visit, library‘s guest met with library‘s board member Birute Garbaviciene and director Arunas Antanaitis. Library-museum‘s representatives introduced guests to their future plans, exhibit development, nearest planned projects. During the meeting Kazickas family members and library representetives dicussed future cooperation possibilities.
LRT television filmed Jurate Kazickas' library visit. Filmed footage and her interview will be available to the viewers during LRT Seven Kaunas Days broadcast.
Joseph Kazickas, John Kazickas and their families also checked the renovated building and available exhibits. They were impressed by the renovated wooden featues of the building, doors, unique wooden trimmings. On their way out, guests recorded their well wishes to the libary and its visitors.
Kazickas Family foundation is the largest private library‘s funder.
