Rising to a challenge to become the pioneers of a new medicine field in Lithuania, they embarked on a long, difficult but meaningful and vital for Lithuania journey. They've studied hard for many years, gaining experience in various international seminars and training at the best Emergency Medicine centers in the USA where Emergency Medicine was launched half a century ago. All that work with one purpose - to be able to provide the highest quality medical help when needed to all Lithuania's residents and guests.
Those 10 bright young individuals who became accredited Emergency Medicine specialists today already started changing the field of Emergency Medicine in Lithuania during their residency. Now, starting their jobs at the various hospitals all around the country leading Emergency Medicine departments, they will work on making the necessary changes on a national level.
Emergency Medicine Clinic thanks their colleagues at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and Kaunas Clinics who helped to prepare new Emergency Medicine doctors, the Kazickas family Foundation for providing invaluable opportunity to train with Emergency Medicine experts in Cincinnati, USA and to all you contributed while taking this path.
In 2017 Emergency Medicine pioneers in Kaunas and Vilnius joined the experts in Cincinnati with the help of the Kazickas Family Foundation to gain knowledge and experience. Program's initiator Dr. Herbert Loyd joined forces with Kaunas Clinics Emergency Medicine pioneers Kestutis Stasaitis and Nedas Jasinskas, as well as Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Clinics Advisor to Director, Pranas Serpytis, starting a 7 step program to expose 22 Lithuanian Physicians training in the specialty of Emergency Medicine about how to manage and direct Emergency Medicine Departments in community hospitals. Trained physicians will create a nucleus with similar management exposure and capability. This helps to create a level field for Emergency Medicine advancing in Lithuania. By the end of 2019 there will be sufficient corporate knowledge and skill to develop a directorship management program internal to Lithuania.
