During their visit to Chicago, KFF representatives, Vilnius office director Agne Vertelkaite, New York office director Neila Baumiliene and AKGP manager Gintaute Genender, met with Consul General of Lithuania in Chicago Mantvydas Bekesius and advisor for cultural affairs and public diplomacy Ieva Dilyte.
Consul General and his colleague shared the latest Consulate's work and ideas to build stronger ties between Chicago and Lithuania.
KFF representatives introduced Foundation's main work areas, discussed internship programs in Lithuania LISS and Bring Together in Lithuania offered for students with Lithuanian roots growing up abroad. Issues regarding the Lithuanian language proficiency test for youth attending Lithuanian Heritage schools and ways to improve communication with the Ministry of Education of Lithuania were also discussed. Plans to bring dr. Joseph P. Kazickas 100th jubilee exhibition to Chicago were examined.
