On March 20th members of the Pasvalys Petras Vileišis Gymnasium Drama Club, the Letter of Gratitude contest winner Gabija Račinskytė and school's teachers visited the Kazickas family residence in Vilnius and V. Kasiulis Art Museum. Dr. Joseph Kazickas was school's graduate back in 1937 who kept close ties with its community his entire life and is an inspiring role model for school's students today.
While celebrating dr. Joseph P. Kazickas' centennial, Petras Vileisis school's young actors introduced unique performance to the Pasvalys community called "Neverending Odyssey" and based on dr. Joseph and Alexandra Kazickas life story, while young writers participated in a Gratitude and Love Letter writing contest, also based on dr. Joseph Kazickas' letters written to his beloved wife Alexandra.
Two events were crowned with a trip to the Kazickas family residence in Vilnius and to the V. Kasiulis, who's life story has close ties to dr. J. P. Kazickas' story, art museum.
Guests from Pasvalys Petras Vileisis school thank the Kazickas Family Foundation for their wonderful gift - the opportunity to visit the Kazickas Family Residence and the V. Kasiulis Art Museum. They are grateful to KFF Vilnius office director Agne Vertelkaitė, who, along with KFF youth program manager Arminas Vareika welcomed them warmly and pleasantly, gave a detailed and interesting account of the residence, answered questions and took care of the trip. Their gratitude is best described by the thoughts expressed by school's student Patricija Mazeikaite:
"Ex nihilo nihil fit ... How difficult it is to realize that someone's past is our present ... That someone's effort, hard work and a piece of luck led us to an extraordinary, luxurious space. An excursion to the Kazickai residence, probably is one of the gifts of life. A gift to realize that giving up on the first challenges is a mistake, and everything you want and desire needs to be done with all the strength. After all, no one knows what fate has prepared for us. Perhaps one failure leads to greater success. The difficult past of Juozas Kazickas is an excellent proof of this. Everything is possible in the world, it is important the way we react to the challenges of life ... Probably the greatest admiration of their family is that the personal family space should be open to everyone, that their personal life with transparent love, difficulties and of course resistance to failures, is willingly disseminated and shared with everyone. Such stories inspire people, they inspired me as well! .. After a tour in the residence, we visited the museum of the artist Vytautas Kasiulis. It was another touch to the past of the people, proving that to do what is pleasing to you - the aspiration of life, and the challenges - are the invaluable lessons of life! .. Nothing comes from nowhere”.
