The pandemic postponed everyone's plans for some time, including Peter Kazickas'. However that didn't stop him to move forwards with his initiative Uncommon.lt. Finally, after some bumps along the way, Peter made it to Lithuania in June of 2021 and to put it in Peter's own words "in typical KFF fashion, we hit the ground running and were busy from start to finish."
Peter Kazickas and KFF team visited RoboLabas, STEM Center that will open its doors this fall and Vocational Training Center where they received lots of important facts regarding the technology education and professional training. During the visit to one of larger and very successful business where engineers are in high demand, visitors learned about the plans to launch their own academy that would train future employees with specific skills and knowledge needed for the particular jobs. Most importantly, Peter made important connections with young active Panevezys residents who deeply care about their town and its future, including an Open Youth Center team that welcomed Peter with such an excitement and are looking forward to working together, sharing their knowledge, experience and talents.
"Over the next few days we met with more Education specialists and interviewed potential candidates for Uncommon.lt. We are very excited by the talented Lithuanians who applied to join us in launching Uncommon and can't wait to get to work soon," continued Peter.
In Vilnius, Peter also met with the representatives of Teachers Lead Tech, Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and Devbridge with a goal to expand the network of stakeholders. To summarize just a few first days in Lithuania, lots of significant work was done expanding the network and gathering all the important information for Peter's new initiative Uncommon.lt. Thanks to many incredible people, now he is more aware of what Lithuania needs, how people think and work here.
