On January 25th the Kazickas Family Foundation introduced special exhibit at the Vilnius University Library White Hall in Lithuania, telling Joseph P. Kazickas' life story.
Dr. Joseph Peter Kazickas (1918–2014) – philanthropist, patriot, entrepreneur, intellectual, talented writer and speaker, art benefactor, athlete, photography and gardening enthusiast and most importantly – dedicated family man who spent 70 years with his wife Alexandra.
"Education and culture were always important to my father. I get goosebumps standing in this hall - my parents used to sit here, walk on those floors. They are smiling from above now that their little girl is standing here at the same place where they fell in love and learned so much. I am extremely grateful that my parents used to tell me all the time " don't forget your Homeland." My father spent only 20 years of his life in Lithuania, but his roots and love always kept him close and he always tried to help. Our foundation works to help students open ways to go abroad, study, learn how people live there and then help their Homeland upon returning," shared Joseph Kazickas' daughter and the president of the Kazickas Family Foundation Jurate Kazickas.
During the exhibit opening J. Kazickas was kindly surprised when honored with the Freedom Fighters' Order of the Cross of Vytis for her civic work to benefit Lithuania.
Exhibit "Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas' Life Story" prepared by the Kazickas Family Foundation will be open at the Vilnius University Library (III a., Universiteto g. 3) till February 29, 2019.
