Joseph and Alexandra's second-born son, Alexander Kestutis Kazickas, passed away while on a trip around the world in Kathmandu, Nepal in December, 1976. He was 22 years old.
He had distinguished himself as a terrific athlete in swimming and in golf. One of his swimming records as a 12 year old stood for many years. He won several country club golf championships. To never forget him, the family decided to dedicate a memorial in Kathmandu. His name is carved in gold on a beautiful wooden altar in the Catholic Church of the Assumption. Scholarships have also been created in his name for dozens of Nepali children who attend the church school.
Alexander Kazickas, would have celebrated his 67th birthday on March 18th. His siblings, Jurate, Joseph, Michael and John remember him as a gentle, kind and humble young man. He is in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace in God’s loving embrace.
