Two young Lithuanian Emergency Medicine Doctors, Renata Ruseckaite and Linas Darginavicius, spent five weeks at Cincinnati Hospital expanding their knowledge in emergency medicine management as part of an important international future emergency medicine doctors educational project.
In Cincinnati they joined Emergency medicine doctor Herb Loyd, head of Emergency medicine at Cincinnati hospital Kurt Knochel and their incredible team of experts. It is a 7 step program to expose 24 Lithuanian Physicians training in the specialty of Emergency Medicine about how to manage and direct Emergency Medicine Departments in community hospitals. Emergency Medicine Training is new to Lithuania, but well entrenched in America.
At the end of his residency Linas Darginavicius was sharing his experience gained, future plans and gratitude:
"During the residency in Lithuania I worked and studied hard but it was still something missing. That something was - how the whole system, not just one outstanding Emergency department, works. I got to learn about all that during this fellowship in the U.S. Also I made connections for further collaboration as well as gathered a lot of information for a proposal for the Lithuanian Ministry of Health for optimization of current Emergency medicine system, because I see some deficiencies that we need to improve. I would really like to Thank everybody who was involved in this project and I strongly believe that it will change not only me but also Lithuania as well".
Linas' colleaque Renata Ruseckaite added her words of gratitude to the Kazickas Family Foundation supporting the project:
"I want to thank you for what you're doing for the development of Emergency medicine in Lithuania. I spent 5 unforgettable weeks in Cincinnati and learned so many things about management of Emergency medicine as well as made connections for future project and met so many wonderful and devoted people. I can't put in words all experience I got from this program. It was valuable experience and I am bringing back home to Lithuania not only knowledge but also ideas how to develop Emergency medicine further in order to help people in all country. For this opportunity - THANK YOU!
