„Renkuosi mokyti!“ – “Teach for Lithuania”, program supported by KFF, attracts educated, active, creative and motivated young people to become teachers. The program is one of 36 Teach for All network partners worldwide. Its mission is to help each child learn, especially those in rural or semi-rural communities where children have fewer educational opportunities.
"Teach for Lithuania" is looking for energetic, proactive individuals who want to challenge themselves to try the most rewarding and interesting job - to teach. They are inviting people who want to share and improve, to take responsibility and bring new ideas. They're searching for individuals who care about the children, their everyday lives, their future. "Teach for All" is inviting to joing young, proactive community, where creativity, enthusiasm and professionalism are valued.
"Teach for Lithuania" program's director Gabriele Characiejiene also shared the latest news and updates. She was excited about their current teachers' success, their effort and progress.
"Teach for Lithuania" held a Christmas Event: awards and a fair in support of the upcoming program's cohort. Program partners and supporters, active alumni and organizations contributing the most to Teach for Lithuania vision were among the awarded. On behalf of the Kazickas Family Foundation, KFF Vilnius Executive Director Zenonas Bedalis accepted the award: " for continuous support, care, insights and valuable connections".
Mrs. Characiejiene also shared that project "Teach for Lithuania" was recognized as one of the best projects, financed by European Union Funds, and its success stories will be included in their promotional campaign.
Program director also told us about an event organized with Caritas about the prevention in human trafficking. Sadly, there was no substantial ineterst in this topic among the teachers. It was noticed that only small amount of teachers feel resposnsibility and connection to this painful suject. It was extremely beneficial to our teachers to broaden their views. We ought to think about a broader topic how to help socialy abandoned children, experiencing violence.
She also gave us an update about their two new partners "Public Policy and Management Institute" ir "Friisberg," the future perspectives with the "Western Union" and about their extensive work with the Goverment and the Ministry of Education and Science regarding the changes and improvements in education.
