The first seminar to train basketball coaches for the project „The Power of Basketball“ was presented by Aiste Zemaityte, sports phsychologist working in Lithuania and Germany. Eighteen participants who work with the youth either as basketball coaches in Capital Basketball School of Vilnius or in the KFF grantee organizations were welcomed to the Kazickas Residence in Vilnius.
Andrius Cerskus director of the Capital basketball school (the SKM), the KFF partner in the "The Power of Basketball" program, introduced Arminas Vareika, the SKM coach and program's administrator, and spoke about the program's goals. During the seminar, the lecturer taught coaches how to work in the mixed age youth group, introduced work tools, had the participants work in groups applying pshychological methods and suggested themes for conversations with the youth.
Coches will get booklets on how to conduct specialized talks to children on specific subjects.
