Teach for Lithuania 2015 - Renkuosi Mokyti!
07/23/2015

„Renkuosi mokyti!“ – “Teach for Lithuania” attracts educated, active, creative and motivated young people to become teachers. The program is one of 36 Teach for All network partners worldwide. Its mission is to help each child learn, especially those in rural or semi-rural communities where children have fewer educational opportunities and score lower on academic measures.

To join the program pedagogical certificate is not required. In 2015, from 450 applicants, 12 selected participants went to a four week summer course of pedagogy and psychology in Sudeikiai, Utena, Lithuania. Starting September, they will be teaching in Vilnius, Kaunas, Panevezys, Vilkija, Mosedis, Rumsiskes for two years, while being mentored and monitored until they’ll graduate from the program in 2017. Since 2008, 80 young people have been teaching in 40 Lithuanian schools. Among „Renkuosi mokyti!“ alumni there are two school principals, two deputy principals, a teacher methodist, two senior teachers, several NGO founders and leaders, a PhD, four national prize winners for young teachers who live by values of democracy and citizenship.
KFF is one of the program’s sponsors.
