During those visits they decided to give a grant with a sustainability and lasting impact in mind, and had supplied medical equipment for the children's intensive therapy department which yearly provides medical assistance to a thousand and five hundred children with severe illnesses and traumas. In 2008, a half a million Litas grant was given to the department which received eight sets of intensive therapy equipment. Each set had a hospital bed with an artificial lung ventilation machine, heart rate monitor, vital signs monitor, medication and fluid dispensers. The equipment is very much in use to this day. Thanks to the KFF, children’s lives were saved, many patients were able to get back to live a full life. The seed of kindness yielded a harvest of wonderful results. I hope and wish to continue our cooperation with the KFF in the future. Each year, Children’s Clinic provides medical assistance to 70 000 young patients. Our work together has been helping and will help to provide much better and more advanced care."
The plaque says: "With gratitude to the Kazickas Family Foundation for a half a million Litas support and given possibilities to save the most valuable treasure of ours - health of our children - from the staff and patients at the Kaunas University Hospital of Health Sciences Children intensive Therapy department".
