KFF Basketball Social Responsibility Program is being developed through meetings and talks among the Kazickas Family members, in the Kazickas Family Foundation NYC bureau, NBA NYC offices and now, the Kazickas Residence in Vilnius where KFF grantee organizations, their friends and program partners gathered to discuss its development.
All the participants of the meeting have been working with the youth in Lithuania. A rep from an organization which works with the disabled people, a nun, and a monk who work with children in their congregations, Secretary of Federation of Basketball of Lithuania, a rep from the Lithuanian Army were among the participants. Two-hour talks showed how much has been done for the children and the youth in Lithuania, in most cases with little publicity but with an amazing human spirit, and how much more work is needed.
The Power of Basketball led by Peter Kazickas on behalf of the KFF will be a social responsibility program for the Youth of Lithuania. Peter will be joined by his brother Augustine, his cousins Alex, Nick and Jack. The program will start in January of 2015, and will have a Sports Diplomacy Envoys from NBA as a highlight in the summer of 2015. The Power of Basketball is being developed as a long term program.
