“Kreve’s Corner” successfully participates at the Philadelphia Fair
Vincas Kreve Lithuanian School started holiday preparations much earlier this year. As soon as the school year started, already in October teachers and students started working on Christmas crafts and ornaments.
In order to expand our activities we organized a fundraiser and on November 5th and 6th invited everyone to stop by at “Kreve’s Corner” table at the annual Lithuanian American Fair at the Lithuanian Music Hall, in Philadelphia. Everyone contributed and was eager to help: parents and grandparents baked some goodies, smoked chickens, created Christmas ornaments and decorations, donated new and old items, created baskets for raffle.
Generous people from the community donated some items as well. The biggest success came from the pieces our students and teachers made. Children offered various items and raffle tickets to the guests. Nobody could resist their smiles.
Donations and collected money exceeded our goal of one thousand dollars. Generous Kazickas Family Foundation promised to match every dollar (not exceeding one thousand dollars). All donations will go directly to Lithuanian school's needs, it will help to make new folk costumes for children that that keep growing bigger and bigger each year. We are extremely grateful to all Vincas Kreve Lithuanian school supporters.
