USC Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education was founded in 1994, a nonprofit organization established to record testimonies in video format of survivors and other witnesses of the Shoah (Holocaust) of World War II. The Kazickas Family Foundation committed to help index 49 recorded testimonies in Lithuanian, to create most suitable programming for the region and to present the tools to the teachers community.
Today, June 18th, the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite met with young Lithuanians from all around the globe who came to Lithuania with "Bring Together Lithuania" program and will have internships this summer here. Opportunities for young people in Lithuania, patriotism, preservation of Lithuanian identity abroad were discussed during the meeting.
Today, June 17th, Alexandra Kazickas would have celebrated her 99th birthday. On this special day, her dear daughter Jurate Kazickas shares kind words about her Mamyte and her father's letter written 30 years ago.
On June 13th, an award in memory of Alexandra Kelavenaite-Kazickas and her dear teacher linguist Petras Butenas was presented to dr. Bronius Dobrovolskis, an educator, Lithuanian language teaching specialist and textbook author.
On June 16th, Bring Together Lithuania 2019, summer internship and modern Lithuania program for youth of Lithuanian heritage, was officially launched at the Kazickas Family Residence in Vilnius.
On June 14-15th, Lithuanian National Martynas Mazvydas Library and Adolfas Damusis Democracy Studies Center are hosting center's annual conference "Europe's Conscience and Totalitarianism: Lithuanian Society's Historical Experience 20th Century".
The Kazickas Family Foundation and its program “Youth Can” teams are grateful and honored by a special gesture of gratitude from Her Excellency Dalia Grybauskaite. On the last day of May, at the Presidential Palace Park, during the picnic celebrating three-year anniversary of "For a Safe Lithuania" campaign closest partners of the initiative received a special symbolic signboard of the campaign.
On May 27th Language and Culture Institute "Lingua Lituanica" in Panevezys hosted the Kazickas Family Foundation's Petras Butenas Literacy Award committee meeting. It was decided this year to award an educator, linguist, and Lithuanian language textbook author - dr. Bronius Dobrovolskis.
On May 23rd Taurage community welcomed a series of events dedicated to the memory of dr. Joseph P. Kazickas, philanthropist, intellectual and patriot of Lithuania.
On May 18th twenty nine Alexandra Kazickas Lithuanian School students ended their school year. This year school had two graduates, Adriana Zukas and Simona Vadeikaite. During the end of year ceremony students, teachers, parents and friends celebrated school's accomplishments.
