Today is a day to remember Joseph P. Kazickas (April 16, 1918 - July 9, 2014), Founder of the Kazickas Family Foundation who would have celebrated his 98th Birthday.
On April 13th, trade school "Sodziaus Meistrai," supported by KFF, invited higher grade students to the open house where every young person got a chance to participate in a creative workshop of his/her choice. Following the workshop, students had an opportunity to visit Trakai museum, where a hall filled with dr. J. Kazickas' hunting trophies is open to the public.
Presidential Valdas Adamkus Library - Museum is opening its doors on April 29th, 2016. Library, with a help from the Kazickas Family Foundation, finished the renovation and is slowly opening its doors to various groups, student conferences, meetings with a plan to open doors wide to general public soon.
On Tuesday, Lithuanian Basketball Federation hosted nine young basketball lovers from three villages of Lithuania, participants of the Kazickas Family Foundation sponsored program “Basketball Power” and their coaches.
On April 11th in New York, Kazickas Family Foundation representatives John Kazickas and Neila Baumiliene met with Minister of National Defense Dr. Juozas Olekas, Aide-de-Camp to the Minister of Defense MAJ Egidijus Ciutas, Military Representative to the Permanent Mission of Rep. of LT to the UN Col. Darius Petryla and Deputy DA to the US and Canada Col. Juozas Kačergius.

“Basketball Power” program, supported by Kazickas Family Foundation, coordinator Aiste Furajevaite with a help from Alexandra Kazickas Lithuanian School's alumni*, organized an Evening of Kindness in New York for the program. Jonas Valanciunas was the Event’s Ambassador.
Lithuanian Language Proficiency/Level Test for Juniors (born in 2002 and older) will be held in NYC on Sunday, April 17th (only once a year). This is the first of the kind test in Lithuania's History.
Since 2013, Kazickas Family Foundation has been supporting National Alopecia Association of Lithuania. Grants for Alopecia awareness campaigns and Family summer camp 2015 were given in hope that the society becomes more informed about this autoimmune condition.
Kiki Kazickas, granddaughter of Dr. Joseph and Alexandra Kazickas, (or Tėvelis and Mamytė, as Kiki and other ten grandchildren kindly call them) is continuing her grandparents' philanthropic work. Two of her choices she feels very passionate about - Education Opportunities for All and Women's Reproductive Rights. Kiki chose to support the Pencils of Promise and the Center for Reproductive Rights.
