On June 16th, Bring Together Lithuania 2019, summer internship and modern Lithuania program for youth of Lithuanian heritage, was officially launched at the Kazickas Family Residence in Vilnius.
On June 14-15th, Lithuanian National Martynas Mazvydas Library and Adolfas Damusis Democracy Studies Center are hosting center's annual conference "Europe's Conscience and Totalitarianism: Lithuanian Society's Historical Experience 20th Century".
The Kazickas Family Foundation and its program “Youth Can” teams are grateful and honored by a special gesture of gratitude from Her Excellency Dalia Grybauskaite. On the last day of May, at the Presidential Palace Park, during the picnic celebrating three-year anniversary of "For a Safe Lithuania" campaign closest partners of the initiative received a special symbolic signboard of the campaign.
On May 27th Language and Culture Institute "Lingua Lituanica" in Panevezys hosted the Kazickas Family Foundation's Petras Butenas Literacy Award committee meeting. It was decided this year to award an educator, linguist, and Lithuanian language textbook author - dr. Bronius Dobrovolskis.
On May 23rd Taurage community welcomed a series of events dedicated to the memory of dr. Joseph P. Kazickas, philanthropist, intellectual and patriot of Lithuania.
On May 18th twenty nine Alexandra Kazickas Lithuanian School students ended their school year. This year school had two graduates, Adriana Zukas and Simona Vadeikaite. During the end of year ceremony students, teachers, parents and friends celebrated school's accomplishments.
By the end of 2019, a 7 step program to expose 22 Lithuanian Physicians training in the specialty of Emergency Medicine about how to manage and direct Emergency Medicine Departments in community hospitals will come to an end. With all the knowledge and experience gained, young specialists in Lithuania are joining forces to start new initiatives, to make a change and to Be that Change in Lithuania.
May is a busy month at the Lithuanian Schools in the US - Mothers' Day, end of school year celebrations, graduations, but in the midst of it all two Lithuanian schools, "V. Kudirka" and "Lietuvele," managed to organize KFF Matching Grant events and raise some extra funds to support schools' work.
Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas 100th jubilee exhibition continues its travel and this time it will settle in Taurage for few weeks. On May 23rd the Kazickas Family Foundation in partnership with Taurage Region Museum "Santaka", Birute Baltrusaityte Public Library and Taurage Cultural Center is inviting all to a day of events in honor of dr. J. Kazickas.
“It’s hard to believe that during the first season “Youth Can” program laid such a strong foundation,” shared program’s manager Arminas Vareika smiling. Well known Lithuanian patriot and philanthropist dr. Joseph Kazickas’ grandson Peter Kazickas brought the idea of social responsibility program “Youth Can” to Lithuania from Zimbabwe.
