Veterans Day is a U.S. legal holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars. Great Britain, France, Australia and Canada also commemorate the veterans of World War I and II on or near November 11th: Canada has Remembrance Day, while Britain has Remembrance Sunday (the second Sunday of November). In Europe, Great Britain and many other countries it is common to observe two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. every November 11.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Lithuania together with The Education Exchanges Support Foundation announces application process for Lithuanian student internships with Lithuanian schools, communities and Baltic studies centers in diaspora for 2018-2019 school year. Schools interested in hosting a student for internship, please submit application before November 30, 2017.
On October 14th Lithuanian School of Washington held school's and KFF Matching Grant event at Lithuanian Embassy in Washington D.C. Over $10,000 were collected during the evening! The Kazickas Family Foundation is excited by such a successful event and will add $1,000 to the funds. Additionally, an anynymous donor will add $2,000 more. All collected funds will be used to create a productive educational environment for school's students.
On Sunday before the All Souls Day, the Kazickas family members with a small group of Alexandra Kazickas Lithuanian school children and parents visited the final resting place of dr. Joseph Kazickas, his wife Alexandra and their son Alexander at the East Hampton cemetery.

Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas (1918-2014) and his beloved wife Alexandra (1920-2011) were generous supporters of the Lithuanian Foundation (est. 1962 in Chicago, IL). Dr. Kazickas had been on the Board of Directors of the Lithuanian Foundation for 13 years and had immensely contributed to its success.
