In mid-December 2015, as a board member of the Women's Refugee Commission, Jurate Kazickas spent five days traveling through Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia. Kazickas Family Foundation's Director shares her thoughts with the WomensNews.

Kazickas Family Foundation together with A. Kazickas Lithuanian School thanks The Lithuanian Foundation for $3,700 support. In 2015 Lithuanian Foundation issued a $110,000 grant to Lithuanian Heritage Schools and US Lithuanian Educational Council distributed it among the schools.

On January 29-30th a seminar for the Lithuanian Heritage Schools' teachers was held in Boston. Seminar speakers, Vilnius University (ALTE- the Association of Language Testers in Europe member) linguistics department specialists, Joana Pribusauskaite and Rita Migauskiene, taught teachers how to test schools' students' proficiency levels using newly created tests.

The LKMT/LLPT (Lietuvių Kalbos Mokėjimo Testas/Lithuanian Language Prificiency Test), issued by the Vilnius University (ALTE - the Association of Language Testers in Europe member) on behalf of Lithuania’s Ministry of Education, offers official accreditation of mastery of the Lithuanian language for residents of countries in which Lithuanian is not the official language.

Ninety eight years ago, February 16, 1918, an act, proclaiming the restoration of an independent State of Lithuania was signed.

For the fourth year in a row Kazickas Family supports Lithuanian Heritage Schools in the US through A. Kazickas Grant Program.

This year $88,420 have been distributed among 21 schools that have asked for support.

The AC, formerly Across Cultures, Women's Empowerment program sponsored by the Kazickas Family Foundation is seeking delegates to represent Lithuania in two separate programs: Women Deliver's 4th Global Conference 16-19 May 2016 in Copenhagen Denmark and Global Summit of Women: 'Women - Building an Inclusive Economy in a Digital Age', 9-11 June 2016 in Warsaw Poland.

Thursday, June 30th - Sunday, July 3rd, 2016 the XV Lithuanian Folk Dance Festival will take place in Baltimore.

On January 27th, New York, Aiste Furajevaite from the Kazickas Family Foundation met with Lithuania’s Consul General  Julius Pranevicius to discuss the “Basketball Power” program.

During her visit to Chicago, IL, on January 17th, Neila Baumiliene of KFF, met with Mrs. Rita Venclovas, program coordinator for Child's Gate to Learning.
